July 19, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —– South Sudan’s Salva Kiir government has ordered civilians to march to the streets to protest foreign force intervention in the country. The protest, however, could subside down as more fighting resumes at the outskirts of Juba between the two rival forces.

According to reliable sources,  the protesters will march on the streets to denounce foreign intervention which was proposed by IGAD and supported by the African Union, the United Nations, SPLM/SPLA-IO and other political parties.

In a memo written to American citizens in South Sudan, US Embassy regrets that South Sudan government has officially announced that it is sponsoring a demonstration against the IGAD-proposed and AU-endorsed increase of UNMISS troops in the country and therefore citizens must avoid public places.

“Message to American Citizens — The government of South Sudan has announced that it is sponsoring a demonstration against the IGAD-proposed and AU-endorsed increase of UNMISS troops to Juba.” Parts of the memo reads.

“The protest is scheduled to take place in Juba on Wednesday morning, July 20, beginning at SPLM House and moving to the John Garang Memorial. U.S.” the memo continued.

“Citizens are advised to avoid the areas in which the demonstration will take place. Even demonstrations intended to be peaceful can turn confrontational and escalate into violence.” the statement concludes.

According to Mading Ngor, a journalist who protested in Jieng Emmanuel Church for allowing Dr. Machar to speak, supporters and sympathizers must come out to support the “civil society organization”.

“If you’re in Juba and love your country, come out and support the civil society organizations rally tomorrow (Wednesday) in front of Dr. John Garang Mausoleum.” Mading Ngor,  journalist

According to eye witnesses similar demonstration was conducted today in Bor town, the capital of Jonglei state.

“A peaceful demonstration has been held in Jonglei state this morning. The citizens of Jonglei state jam in the street today rejecting more foreign troops intervention in South Sudan.” Ayom Ruei Ayom said.

This type of demonstration in South Sudan is very rare, unless organized by the government.

Reacting on social media, many commentators urge Kiir’s supporters not to protest against foreign intervention but for food, clean drinking water, health care and better roads in the country.

“If the citizens of South Sudan can’t come out to demonstrate against their government for lack of basic needs such as food, cleaning drinking water, primary Healthcare, education etc…. and man-made economic hardship, why would you think they would come out to demonstrate against UNMISS that had been providing security and refuge to tens of thousands of South Sudanese running for the lives from their own government???” Agel Machar, former national youth chairman and a leading member of SPLM/SPLA-IO said.

“Seeing people at Bor, a town that leased foreign troops from Uganda for protection for good two years, demonstrating against foreign intervention while they bankrupted South Sudan by giving all the money to Ugandan troops and Darfur rebels in exchange for protection, is not only a sign of mass incompetency to our not so distance cousins Jieng, but may also gives the civilize world a reason to robs us of our hard-won independence.” Goihoa Biliu echoed.

Salva already handed the country to uganda president long ago. Why complain of other country sharing governoership with president uganda? Don’t waste time.

The international community has determined to take action on south sudan gangsters.

I think after this demonstration, government will provide full security to its citizens and get rid of unknown gunmen, provide services, bring back 4 billion stolen money, construct roads and deliver required services than manipulating the civil population for their interests which doesn’t benefit any South Sudanese.

Why demonstrate! Don’t you love fighting? Why not wait for the Foreign Force to arrive and then you fight them?

Williams July 20, 2016 at 10:27 am

Those demonstrating against UN or foreign forces have forgotten that it is our citizens that are being protected even today with water, Food and other Non Food items by UNMISS and Tomorrow the Gov’t Officials and demonstrators including the President who will again appear on the media that please international community(UN, AU and IGAD) help us with money or other services for the implementation of the Addis peace, i don’t blame illiterates of our country but shame on you who will cry later on the media for international support.

It would be fine if IGAD deploy their troops soon in Juba to rescue Machar, who is always searched by President troops. It seems to me as if IGAD has a plan to kill Machar because they kept silent for so long while they were the ones who took Machar to Juba without enough force. Where’s their protection now and role as a mediator ?

IGAD & The International community has failed Dr. Riek Machar. He went to juba because he is a peace lover & they see him when this use less president is using state resource to kill that good man??? Stay firm freedom fighters. Tell Taban Deng to stay true to him self. If salva kiir kills him Riek Mcahar today, He will kill him too next day or he will have to relinquish idea of democratizing south sudan. I hope Taban deng will not go that low at this critical time.
