August 28, 2016(Nyamilepedia) —— Torit—The Torit Municipal Council Mayor Eddy William Pansiano has ordered bar owners operating in Torit municipality not to operate during working hours but should open from 5pm to night hours and during the weekend at 12 pm.

Mayor Eddy issued the Local order early last month stopping all bars not to operate in Torit Town, banning playing of Cards and dominoes during the working hours, but the entire public remains unaware of the order which led some to violate.

The local order according to mayor is to encourage local citizens to cultivate and produce more local food and avoid being depending on imported food in order to reduce hunger and food insecurity.

Torit Municipal Council Mayor Eddy William Pansiano further said concerning health condition of the public, the municipality will again issue another local order that will orderi all traders operating in Torit Market to visit HIV/AIDS canters for testing to know their status,  this is to protect local people from infection.

In response to the implementation of the order, the acting Chairperson of Uganda Community based in Torit Nyeko Decent Obina says the state authority should equally treat each business owners toward business communities operating in Torit Omoliha market, not just arresting some nationals and leaving others

“Four men from Ugandan and two ladies from Kenya were arrested on Monday in their bars leaving South Sudanese bars,” Nyeko claimed.

He said it is unfair if the local order only issued for non – South Sudanese, because he said “why this order is not applied to South Sudanese bar owners like Labalua and Nyong bars and restaurant?”

Several orders have been issued by Torit Municipal Council but implementing them is always challenging due to uninformed public concerning the orders which in turn many become victims of those orders.
