Oct 15, 2015 (Nymilepedia) – Fierce tribal fighting has left nearly 100 civilians dead in Warrap state as different clans turned on each other in competition over land and government positions.

Warrap State which is a home to South Sudan incumbent president has been engulfed by fighting for several weeks since the beginning of October between the Thiik and Luacjieng clans in Tonj County.

Within the last one week, the newly appointed governor of Warrap State, Akech Tong Aleu, survived assassination with serious injuries after an ambush on his convoy killed all his bodyguards and his driver. Other close aide were also killed as clan fighting engulfed the troubled state.

According to the Warrap State information minister, Arech Mayar, more than 92 people were killed and more than 144 others have been seriously injured and need urgent medical help in a state that has no airstrip.

The Minister said Police and Army has now been deployed to help stop the fighting between the dinka clans.

“The organized forces are deployed in Tonj East where the fighting occurred to stop the continuous inter-clan fighting over land ownership” said Minister Arech Mayar

Meanwhile governor Akech Tong says he has met with member of different clans and called for immediate stop of fighting.

A senior member of government from Tonj said one of the main causes of the fighting was where the boundaries lie between the two counties, warning the issue of the boundaries could jeopardize Kiir’s new state if not properly handled.

“They are fighting because of the borders, where is the border? ….. we don’t know it, the president,… he knows it?” said the official calling himself Mr Malual.

It’s not the first time the home of President Salva Kiir has seen deadly clan fighting. 6 month ago fighting broke out between Gogrial East and Gogrial West Counties living dozens killed and injured.

The citizens of South Sudan called upon & were advised by the International communities to not adhere to implementations of the decree that illegally creates states, violate’s the constitution and the peace agreement.

If anyone try dragging the citizens to discussing the decree that creates state on tribal lines the response should be..

“I don’t want to talk about it”

to avoid such deadly confrontations and that it is a matter that the constitution of the land will resolved peacefully when the parliamentry committee tables the question of more states.

What do yout know about a 21st century civilized way of enacting laws by the order of constitution.

I can teach you barbarian a thing or two on how ideas becomes laws.

Look at your new home state engulfed in chaos created by the uncivilized, illegal decree from your primitive tribal herdsmrn Kiir & the JCE.

Your 21st century comment is unfortunately lacking time precision and sadly coming from a breed of power obsessed & power intoxicated idiot who are killing each other over a useless decree not worth implicating at this particular time.

One would have to be a totalidiot to avoid implimenations of peace agreement and jump to implement a lousy divisive decree. It’s just unheard of.

God rest their soul in peace Amin
But brothers, God is always great, to pay back what Kiir is doing to other tribes, therefore dinkas a like a dogs who fight each other for the piece of bone. becouse of Kiir order of 28 state brought poison to his own people, never the less let him make another order to divide South Sudan into 56 state especially his home town of Warrap so that each head of family will be governor and kids will ministers.
Long live devil Kiir
Long live 56 state

Biajuron you nailed it all! I would love to see such a fragmented states with every head of family as governor and the children would be ministers. They say “if the tough gets going the going gets tougher. ” For me, no more cry because the big snake is eating itself.
