February 7th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The leader of the opposition National Democratic Movement (NDM) Dr.  Lam Akol Ajawin is leaving the Sudanese capital Khartoum for Juba to participate in a peace dissemination campaign organized by South Sudan women in Juba.

Early on Wednesday, Akol said he will travel to Juba on Thursday for the peace function.

“Going to Juba tomorrow to participate in launching ‘National Peace Campaign’ organized by the women and sponsored by IGAD,” he wrote on his Twitter page.

A reliable source from his group told the Nyamilepedia moments ago that the prominent opposition leader is at Khartoum airport waiting for his flight to the South Sudanese capital Juba.

The NDM,  a member of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA), is a signatory of the revitalized peace agreement signed by opposition groups and South Sudan government on September last year.

In November, an election conducted in the Sudanese capital Khartoum threatened to fracture the party leaving it divided with one faction led by Gen. Peter Gatdet Yaka and the other by Changson Lew.
