Nov 11, 2015(Nyamilepedia) —- In a proposal signed by 52 Equatorian Parliamentary caucus, members of parliament from the three assemblies of Greater Equatoria call on president Salva Kiir to create more states in Equatoria.

Based on a consultative meeting held on 4th November by the National Legislature (NL), the caucus came up with additional states to be added to Salva Kiir’s recently imposed 28 states.

“Our consultative meeting held on 4th November 2015 National Legislature (NL), have come up with additional new proposed states as response of Equatoria to popular demand of our people established through wider consultation with the community” reads part of the statement.

The caucus proposed as twice as many new states in Equatoria as proposed by the Dinka Council of Elders and decreed by president Salva Kiir on October 2nd, 2015.

It’s yet to be confirmed if president Kiir will heed to their call and triple the number of states in Equatoria.

If approved, the 15 additional states will bring the total number of new states in Equatoria to 23 and the total number of states in the country to 43 states.

According to the proposal, the new Equatorian states would be established as follow:

Central Equatoria

a) Central Equatoria State:

  1. Central Equatoria state
  2. Juba South state
  3. Juba North state
  4. Juba West state
  5. Juba East State

b) Yei River State

  1. Yei River State
  2. Kajo-keji state
  3. Lainya state
  4. Morobo state
  5. Terkeka state

Eastern Equatoria state

a) Imotong state

  1. Torit state
  2. Ikwoto state
  3. Tingili state(Lafon and Imehejek)
  4. Atepi River state (Magwi and Pageri)

b) Namourunyang State

  1. Namorunyang state
  2. Moruangipi state
  3. Narus state
  4. Nahichio state
  5. Ngauro state

Western Equatoria State

  1. Amadi state
  2. Maridi state
  3. Yambio states
  4. Tombura state

Revealed by the Dinka Council of Elders, their initial proposal which lacks feasibility studies aimed to create 24 states in the country, however, an inner circle to the president added four more states bringing the total number of states to 28.

According to the regional bloc IGAD, TROIKA and EU, creation of more states violates the peace agreement, a call that is highly supported by the armed opposition, SPLM/SPLA.

The SPLM/SPLA [IO] leadership argues that it is illegal for Salva Kiir to create states as he lacks such powers.

Despite criticism, president Salva Kiir is committed to implement his Republican Decree no. 26/2015 AD.

For those who are working day and night to destroy 28 states order, be informed that this decision is the best of its kinds that president Kiir has ever made. No one will destroy it! I am not against your additional 23 states as long as you know why you came up with it.

I do not my people to kill themselves again because X tribe dominate R tribe. The solution is to have 28 states so that resources are not consumed by individuals in the centre(Juba). Why preaching against it?

Craziest, when Equatorians are going to discipline their children. Stop tribalism behind doors and teach children to behave like normal human beings and not Equatorianism.

This is a clear strategy of breaking away the Equartoria region from South Sudan, if it’s approves by Salva Kiir’s goverment.

Dear brothers and sisters in south Sudan! creations of 24, 21, or 28, is not going to adds or solve anything to our lives rather than create more, more harm or tribalism. lets focus on how to united ranks first and the ways to let Kiir, Wani, Riek, Awet, Malong, Kuol, Makuei, and the like to retire because of the loophole of tribals they have created. let think critically for the future of the nation, not the future of greedy individuals. think, think, and rethink, the more we create more, the more we divided our even in the family setting. Use your epistemology rather than being destroy by few greed leaders. south sudan must be united first instead of tribal states. good luck

Let this people know that we are not aware of their plans but by the time we shall respond, the whole nation will regret. on our behalf, you work heard and we are behind you for ever.

Well, this looks a more genuine demand. If the caucus actually did consulted with their constituencies, then that is the way to go. Mr. Kiir, without time wasting, just go to SSTV and announce the 23 states in Equatoria, period.

I don’t think Dinka has ideas, why you always copy Nuer Ideas? We proposed self determination but you were against it, we proposed Federalism but you were against it and now we created 21 State but you were against it. Now you accepted self determination and kill Nuer because of its powers again you kill Shuluk for creation of 28 State. WHAT HAPPEN TO YOU PEOPLE? WHERE EVER YOU GO, PROBLEM FOLLOW YOU!

I told you that my name is DINGIT NA TUGGÖ, which means only time will explain. See now how MY prediction comes true? Those who call the people of Equatoria their wives know that it is not always good to provok a crocodile in the waters of the river Nile in JUBA NA GREATER EQUATORIA.
Mr. BEEK or Mr. BAAK, please remember what you said. You said if Equatorians are going to be a woman, she will be a wife number two. Just continue provoking us, we love it because it unites us and helps us to make sure that you and your, your jce swallow our reforms so slowly. FEDERAL SYSTEM IS OUR GOAL and am very quite sure you and the whole of you triblism tribe keep on crying.
23 States will block your evil plans of land grabbing, it will make you stop renaming JEBEL LADO by calling it jebel jenge. You idiots………………………. HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAAAA

Good Call Greater Equatoria,

23 States is logical and practical given your population.

If the Incompetent, Dinka warlord-tribal-chief, power-hungry-greedy, and traitorous, Killer Kiir, can decreed the creation of over 10 Dinka villages into States, why not your towns ?

I hope his truly, the drunkard-dumb-alcoholic-genocidal-fool(Killer Kiir) promptly implement your genuine demands for 23 States without delay.

Excellent,
Now let us see, if this foolish President will listen to that demand or disregard it, because it did not come from his Jenge Council of Elders.
Let’s partition this country on tribal lines and see if the Dinkas will be the Overall winners of this Tribalism they have started. I can see Minority Dinkas in Uppernile getting extinct in the next 50 years due to Tribalism. They will have there own states in Enemy territories.
Kiir better wisen up and stomp down his tribal Cohorts and Warlords, so he can put the country back on track to peace, prosperity and Unity. No tribalism unless JCE wants it to be the order of the day forever.

Absolutely legitimate, go ahead members of Equatorian caucus. We are 100 % behind you. The listed States are without any doubt the popular demand of the people of Greater Equatoria.

Either the voices of the people are heard or a declaration of Greater Equatoria as a separate Country is imminent!!!.

I think the time has come to leave the pig sty,… the corruption, incompetence, tribal dominance, theft, lootings, land grabbing and draw clear lines to terminate all the mess in our regions.

In the last 10 years, Mr Kiir and his tribesmen have been busy stealing and promoting tribal policies rather than uniting South Sudanese.

Time is reached to cut all these loose.

This is crazy…. I think Omer Hassan Albashir is right when he said, South Sudanese are not able to govern themselves…. It was a mistake to separate from Sudan.
