December 21st 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Newly appointed county commissioner of Geer County of Eastern Lakes state has been sworn in according to a state government spokesman who spoke to the Nyamilepedia.

Puorchien Matueny Makeny, Press Secretary for the Eastern Lakes state governor told the Nyamilepedia on Thursday that Micheal Mayor Malak, who replaced Majur Agau Machar was appointed on November 28th after his predecessor allegedly failed to combat alarming cattle raiding between youth of Eastern Lakes counties of Alualuak and Geer on one side and those from Barnaam county of Western Lakes.

“The new commissioner was appointed on 28th, Nov, replacing Hon. Majur Agau Machar, following the continuous cattle raiding between the Gelweng of Greater Aluakluak counties of Aluakluak and Geer and Eastern Barnaam county which is a county of western lakes,” he told the Nyamilepedia on Thursday.

Asked why the government has not been sworn in as it has been one month since his appointment, Matueny said the recent SPLM party retreat conducted in Lobonok interrupted the process because the state governor, Gen. Mangar Buong Aluenge was there and could not sworn in the new county commissioner.

“The Governor was interrupted by the Lobonok retreat which the president call them to attend,” he said.

Matueny said in a separate statement that the swearing in ceremony was presided over by State High Court Judge, Justine Rita Sebit Wani in present of the Eastern Lakes state governor and the SPLM state Secretary-General David Majur Alim.
