Bentiu, South Sudan
July 24, 2021 — The Chief Administrator of the Bentiu IDPs camp and a group of supporters of the SPLM/A-IO in Unity state have declared their political allegiance to join the ruling party, SPLM under the leadership of President Salva Kiir on July 23, 2021.
According to Unity State SPLM Secretariat, they have welcomed a group of SPLM-IO members who declared their allegiance to the SPLM under the leadership of President Salva Kiir Maryardit and the SPLM Unity State’ Interim Chairperson, Cde. Dr. Joseph Manytuil Wejang.
In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, the defectors are led by Chief Administrator of the Bentiu IDPs camp and former SPLM-IO media team leader in Liech State, Cde. Bigoah Kuong and they were received by the SPLM Unity State Deputy Chairperson, Cde.John Gatluak Doar, Unity State SPLM Youth League Interim Chairperson, Cde. Gabriel Chuol Met and the State Assistant Secretaries.
In his Statement to media, the state Deputy Chairperson applauded the decision taken by the group to join SPLM under the leadership of Salva Kiir Maryardit and Dr.Joseph Manytuil Wejang.
On his part, Cde. Bigoah Kuong, the team leader said they were impressed to join SPLM and assured their commitment to work for peace and unity.
