Biden’s team will consist of roughly 500 people who will work with career officials inside the government to prepare a Biden administration to take over.

Biden transition believes that the groups can still get work done without full access.

Former Senator Ted Kaufman, who co-chairs the transition team, says the US is grappling with a pandemic, an economic crisis, urgent calls for racial justice and the existential threat of climate change.

He added that one of the chairs of the Biden transition said that the agency review process will help lay the foundation for meeting these challenges on Day One.

“The work of the agency review teams is critical for protecting national security, addressing the ongoing public health crisis, and demonstrating that America remains the beacon of democracy for the world,” he said.

Tad Kaufman also said that preparations must be made for a seamless transfer of knowledge to the incoming administration.

Biden have affirmed that he is not worried about how long it will take the Trump-led General Services Administration to ascertain the results of the election adding Trump’s denial was an “embarrassment.”

“We’re already beginning the transition, we’re well underway,” Biden said. “We’re going to go on in a consistent manner putting together our White House… and nothing’s going to stop that.”

The outgoing President Donald Trump and his administration have said that they will fight the election results and have also declined to give access to the incoming President-elect’s team.

Observers say the Biden camp’s announcement of the members was intended in part to apply pressure on the Trump administration.

The camp stresses that its transition team is the most diverse ever with women making up over half of the members.

The team also includes many people of color and sexual minorities and those with disabilities.

Meanwhile in the White House, President Donald Trump is determined to make transition not only harder for Biden and Kamala Harris but much more “smooth” for himself as Mike Pompeo would say.
