Sudan and Turkey agree to cooperate in Gum Arabic Production

Oct 13, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — Sudan and Turkey have agreed to cooperate in production of the Gum Arabic in order to jointly benefit from the economy of scales.  

Engineer Mustafa Al- S ayed, Chairman of the council of Gum Arabic Turkey Agency for International Cooperation headed by the Agency’ Office Coordinator in Khartoum held discussions on ways of cooperation and support that the Turkish Agency for International Cooperation could provide for gum Arabic sector in Sudan.

TAIC coordinator said that the agency is willing to provide technical and service support to develop the strategic commodity of gum Arabic.

He also expressed the Agency’s desire for joint cooperation through provision of support in areas of up-to-date technologies in the area of production and harvesting machineries, smart partnerships in the field of investment and industry between Sudanese and Turkish businessmen.

Engineer Mustafa Al- S ayed lauded the TAIC for the support it provided to Sudan and its expression of good will to extend more for the gum Arabic sector in Sudan.

The two sides agreed to organize a meeting that will bring the Gum Arabic Council, Turkish Charge d’affaires and the TAIC Coordinator together in Khartoum and will be attended by representatives of Sudanese Businessmen and Employers Union, Union of Gum Arabic Producers and union of exporters and manufacturers of gum Arabic and other natural gums which can approve such projects.
