The AU ambassador went on to say that Dr. Riek Machar’s side is ready to redouble the efforts to see to it that the missed timelines are caught up so that there shouldn’t be any pretext for extension.

This peace deal was signed on September 12 2018 by Dr. Riek Machar, President Salvar Kiir and other stakeholders in Ethiopia with a three-year transition.

The deal that was witnessed by the USA, United Kingdom and Norway has temporarily ended the 6 to 7 years of fighting.

Two years down the road, the affected citizens of South sudan are yet to see any fruits of the revitalized peace agreement; however, the parties believe that they may implement the R-ARCISS within the remaining one year.
