“The top Church leaders come from various congregations in the former Greater regions across the country.” he added.
The church leaders held Machar seated on a chair and prayed for him and other leaders, and for peace to prevail in the country.
In addition to holding prayers for leaders and peace, the religious leader have been part of the peace process in the country.
They have traveled alongside the warring parties leaders across the region and also up to the Vatican City to meet with the Pope and other religious leaders to pray for peace in South Sudan.
The world’s youngest nation has been held in a deadly civil war since 2013, just two years after her independence, and up to now it is not clear how long the current peace may last.
