In a statement extended to Nyamilepedia, the group wish to inform the public that the report circulating on social media about Amb. Telar is not true.

“The SPLM-IO members from Lakes State wish to inform the South Sudanese General public that the news circulating on social media platforms of Ambassador Telar Ring defection or alleged mobilization of youth to rejoin the SPLM-IG under President Kiir as Santino Riak Maker Mading has just reported on his Facebook page and published by South Sudan Anataban is false and misleading.” Read part of the reports from Lake State SPLM-IO Chapter.

“The SPLM-IO Members from Lakes State wish to categorically make it clear that Ambassador Telar, a senior politician as well as our strong Political figure does not have an intention to rejoin the SPLM-IG.” the SPLM/A-IO Lake State chapter continued.

According to supporters of Hon. Telar, this report was meant to tarnish his name on social media.

“It is information intended to discredit Ambassador Telar and members of the SPLM-IO for having joined the SPLM-IO and their activities towards fighting against mismanagement of the Country to achieve the desired reforms in South Sudan.” The statement continued.

The SPLM-IO urge the public to ignore such “misleading information from Santino Riak Maker Mading.” adding that “it is the information intended to create division within the SPLM-IO and derail the effort of the SPLM-IO in fighting for the reforms in South.”

“It is in short, false and misleading.” the group said.

Lake State SPLM-IO chapter calls on members to remain calm and strong to resist any such attempts.

“On that note, the Lakes State SPLM-IO wishes to encourage the members of the SPLM-IO to desist from deliberately or inadvertently sharing any information that may cause anxiety and harm to the party.” The group said.

The State Chapter explains that the meeting which became the source of the speculation, where Hon. Telar spoke, was meant to evaluate the performance of the SPLM/A-IO within Lake State.

“The meeting which Santino Riak Maker Mading turned into Propaganda tool against Ambassador Telar Ring and against the SPLM-IO is a meeting planned by the SPLM-IO leadership at Lakes State level in Juba to evaluate the activities of the SPLM-IO in eight Counties of Lakes State beginning with Yirol on Friday 11 September 2020.” the report concludes.
