President Salva Kiir meets Dr. El Hadi Idris
Sep 09, 2020(Nyamilepedia) — South Sudan’s president, Salva Kiir Mayardit, met the Sudanese leaders led by the Chairperson of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, Dr. El Hadi Idris, today in the capital, Juba.
According to insiders, Kiir and the Sudanese leaders addressed the final touches on the Sudanese peace deal that is expected to be signed earlier next month.
“President Salva Kiir met with the leaders of the Sudan Revolutionary Front, led by its chairperson, El Hadi Idris at the State House on Tuesday. They discussed the upcoming final signing of the Sudan Peace Agreement” Read part of the report from South Sudan presidency.
Speaking to media after the meeting, Dr. El Hadi Idris outlined that he urged President Salva Kiir to play a leading role between South Sudan and Sudan.
Dr. Idris believes that Salva Kiir can play a role in strengthening the bilateral relations of the two countries.
He urged President Salva Kiir to stand with them in order to implement the Sudanese Peace Agreement.
The Sudanese peace process is making progress and the Sudanese leaders are commended by the AU, TROIKA and IGAD for showing compromises and political will to revive peace and restore hopes in the Sudan.
These progresses, however, are being currently met by a flood that has currently taken over the capital, Khartoum, and other parts of Sudan.
On the other hand, South Sudan is also battling similar floods and shaky peace deal that is not making the much needed progress leaving doubts whether the South Sudan government really means to mediate the Sudan’s warring parties or perhaps this could be a delaying tactic meant to divert attention from peace implementation.
