Juba University student identified as killer of three children
August 10, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan police have identified the criminal who killed three children in the South Sudanese capital Juba last week, police spokesman Maj. Gen. Daniel Justin has told Nyamilepedia this afternoon.
The three siblings were killed in Juba’s Rock City neighborhood exactly on August 1, 2020, after their mother left for a nearby clinic where an unidentified relative was being treated for sickness there.
The police, later on, said around 16 people had been arrested and were being investigated.
Speaking to Nyamilepedia this afternoon, police spokesman Major General Daniel Justin said the killer has been identified. He said the killer is a Juba University student who is also a close relative to the children.
“The department of criminal investigation was able to investigate and identify the killer. So, the killer has been identified and the rest has been released. Now, what is remaining is that he will be taken to the court of law to face charges,” Justin said on phone from Juba.
“He is studying medicine at the University of Juba and he is at fourth year. This is very sad indeed for a student of medicine to involve in such activities,” Justin said.
Several South Sudanese activists have come out to condemn the gruesome killing and have blamed the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit for failure of the security in the most populated city in the country.
President Salva Kiir Mayardit had promised justice for the victims of the deceased children.
