South Sudan: Senior prisons police officer dies in Juba

June 3, 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – A senior South Sudan Prisons Service (NPSSS) officer has died in the county’s capital Juba after reportedly battling unidentified sickness for a long time.

Lt. Gen. John Diing Deng who was the Director of Training and Human Resource Development at  the National Prisons Service of South Sudan passed away on Tuesday at a local hospital in Juba, according to a interior ministry official.

“We are saddened to hear the death of Lt. Gen. John Diing Deng who had passed away yesterday 2nd of June 2020 in Juba, after having insisted long illness,” an official told Nyamilepedia on Wednesday.

He further stressed that the demise of General Gen. John Diing Deng is a “great lost to the nation, his community, his family and more importantly, the National Prisons Service at large.”
