March 8th 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – A prominent South Sudan opposition leader has been prevented from boarding a plane for the Sudanese capital Khartoum by members of the country’s National Security Service (NSS), airport official said without naming the opposition leader.

“A very prominent South Sudan opposition leader has been denied to travel to Khartoum this morning by the South Sudan National Security,” the official said without naming the opposition figure.

He said for his own safety, he could not leak the name to the media saying the prominent official was protesting the way the parties – especially Kiir’s SPLM-IG and Machar’s SPLM-IO – were dividing up ministries.

“Yesterday, I heard the news about the man (the opposition leader prevented from traveling) protesting about the division of the ministers in the R-TGoNU (Revitalized Transitional Government of National Unity) and today, he was prevented from traveling to Khartoum,” the official further said.
