January 1st 2020 (Nyamilepedia) – A South Sudan senior government official has claimed that his country, the youngest on earth, leads some of the advanced countries in term of electricity.

The minister of electricity and dams Dhieu Mathok Ding said his country is leading some advanced countries after installing electricity in Juba last month which is meant to serve around 3000 households in the capital.

“The [electrical] technology, which is here in Juba now, did not work for some and many generations,” Dhieu said.

“What we have now is the same [with other countries], we are even far than advanced countries in term of electricity,” Dhieu added.

“You know, this is an advanced technology that we are using now in Juba. The [electricity] poles are not meant to be knocked by the cars actually. This is wrong conception. It is happening [the poles are being knocked by the cars] because the poles are not meant to be knocked by the cars.

“If someone believe that they can knock the poles because they cannot collapse, that is not true. What is important for us to protect is the environment and we can be blamed for it but negligence from the people.

“Now we are mending our law such that we take them [people who temper with the poles] to the court. Anybody who will temper with those facilities we will take them to the court.”
