December 11th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Five refugees have been killed and over 100 people arrested by Kenyan police after fighting between South Sudanese and Sudanese refugees broke out yesterday, Nyamilepedia chief Correspondent in Kakuma Buay Joshua reports.

The fighting broke out on Tuesday evening after a football match turned violence, Buay reports. “The situation of South Sudanese refugees in the Kakuma refugee camp is tense, and increasingly getting worse.”

Five people have been killed and around 10 people are in critical condition at IRC General Hospital including an eight-year-old boy who was forcibly extracted from a house, severely beaten and left in a coma by the Nubian.

The source said the death would later rise to five adding that over 100 people have been arrested by the Kenyan police.

“As for now, more than 100 South Sudan’s refugees have been arrested and locked up in police cells by the Kenyan Police.”
