Machar’s deputy returns to Juba instead
December 9th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar’s deputy, Hendry Odwar, has instead returned to Juba after an early schedule for the SPLM-IO leader to be in Juba this afternoon.
Machar was expected in Juba this afternoon but couldn’t show up because of a busy schedule of deputy chairman of Sudan’s Sovereignty Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo who would have accompany him to Juba today.
“Dr. Riek Machar will not come to Juba today. He will be here tomorrow morning,” a opposition official told Nyamilepedia from Juba this evening.
“The deputy chairman and his delegation have returned to Juba instead,” the official added.
Machar was expected to meet Kiir today and try to find a solution for the outstanding issues which includes, but not limited to the number of states.
