December 6th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Browsing through through this website, I came across many inspiring optimism in idioms that may be of utmost essence as far as South Sudanese politics is concerned. The saying that “Things have a way of working out for the best” does not only reminds us of our collective duties as a people but also a stark challenge to those of us who are consistently obstructing peace efforts in one way, shape or form.

Honestly, there is time for anything but if people realized that what happen to them has outweigh its gains, then they can adjust to what would satisfy public goods. Former presidents of the United States of America cannot let go of their positions had it not been for the greater benefits of their citizens. The same is true to Canadian leaders and so do Nigerians. So why are we stuck with one perishable character while things can work “out for the best” if we were to recycle these examples?

I hope my readers are following current political developments in the country particularly the issue of states and their boundaries. While concerned bodies are hopeful that parties would open up for renewed commitment, they are likely to be disappointed because hardliners mostly from Juba team were kept as decorated and skillful spoilers of unity in diversity of the country ethnic communities.  If we were to find hope and inspiration as the saying goes above, we should not expect things to work out in our best without sacrifice.

As John F. Kennedy said in his “Inauguration Address” on January 20, 1961; in Washington, D.C., “In the long history of the world, only a few generations have been granted the role of defending freedom in its hour of maximum danger.”  This generation ought to stand in defend of our mother land from this corrupt, despotic, authoritarian, repressive, deformed, exploitative, and dictatorial regime in Juba. Just a few months ago, a platform Facebook Youth Movement called the ‘Red Card Movement” was initiated. That was one of the right steps forward in the face of that brutal machinery in our soil.

Reacting to mere expression of thoughts and freedom, Juba did not hesitate to deploy troops and issued ultimatums that anyone who would be found in the streets of Juba will be dealt with using all means a state accord to them including killing, torture and arbitrary arrest of suspected activists. That should not prevent us from exercising our democratic rights for we know ‘Things have a way of working out for the best.”

As of recent, there were individuals loyalists to the system in Juba who are calling for unity government formation even when states issue is not resolved. How can that government rule states without borders? This is very cheap propaganda and the fact that this agreement was a revitalized version of the 2015 accord which recognized only 10 states, it is abundantly clear that Juba is not sincere in all its acts despites claimed assertions that it is working to find lasting peace. We as a people, must shoulder civic duties so as to change course in due time. Fifty years of war is enough but we still have the mean to make lemonade out of lemons.
