How Dinka Bor Are Prepared To Take Power And Run J1
By Abraham Garang Bol,
Nov 16, 2019(Nyamilepedia) — One of the daunting paralysis that is holding South Sudan hostage is the Bor Love For Power(BLFP) which is manifested in the idea of “Dinka born to rule”. The Dinka Bor, particularly the former Bor South county, is one of the root causes of the current conflict, simply because they want to take power by force. It is because of this reason that the Dinka Bor fitted Bhar el Ghazal, which they believe are foolish majority, against the Nuer of Greater Upper Nile.
Since the days of Dr. John Garang de Mabior, Dinka Bor have been the problem. Their issue at the time was that they envied Twic East Dinka for holding the leadership of South Sudan rebel movement. Whenever their leadership greed kicked in, Dr. John would identified himself as Buor owing to the fact that they are his maternal uncles. Some rogue elements such as Michael Makuei Lueth were never convinced. They would complain of being targeted by Dr. John leadership pointing to the death of renegades such as Martin Majier and a few other Buor sons that were murdered in prisons by the current president, Salva Kiir Mayardit. Back then Kiir was the head of national security and therefore he should bear blames for the death of those of Martin Majier and thousands others who died in the prison. However, their political greed divided them into various camps. Those of Kuol Manyang, within the SPLM/A, could not exchanged words with people like Salva Kiir because of personal grudges but they had to be on good terms with Dr. John Garang to survive from within while those of Michael Makuei Lueth were not on good terms with Dr. John Garang but they had no better alternatives. They all had to survive. Other Dinka Bor such as those of Arok Thon Arok, Abel Alier and other politicians and generals betrayed their kith and ran to Khartoum to harvest leadership. It is partly because of this greed and confusion that prolonged South Sudan conflict.
After the death of Dr. John Garang de Mabior, Bor Dinka were relieved but they had no gateway to leadership. To maintain Dinka Unity, Bor lobbied for Salva Kiir to make it looked as if it was the fairest way to rotate leadership among the Dinka. At the same time, they never wanted to let the power go completely. So they struck a deal with Salva Kiir and since 2005, the Dinka Bor have tried to dominate National Politics as well as Jonglei State politics. The Dinka Bor snatched governorship from Dinka Duk when it was given to Hon Thon Leek and later on went to war with Dinka Atar leading to death of the bravest Dinka General, Lt. Gen. George Athor who rebelled after governorship elections were rigged in favor of Gen. Kuol Manyang. This is how dangerous the Bor Dinka leadership can be. They love power but they do not know how to lead. Kuol Manyang, for example, was the biggest failure in Jonglei State. He never developed anything in the state rather he armed the Murle to fight the Lou-Nuer which later backfired when the Murle began to hunt down Dinka Bor.
Having ruled the old Jonglei State, the same Bor Dinka fitted Salva Kiir against his deputy, Riak Machar. Their agenda was simple. They did not want the power to slip to the Nuer. Riak has become very popular. He had over 65% chances to win the 2015 elections and therefore the only way to prevent Riak from taking power was for them to mobilize Dinka Bhar el Ghazal to go into war with the Nuer, which eventually broke out on December 15, 2013. Within the bigger conflict, the Dinka Bor began to revenge their past humiliations leading to the killing of over 20, 000 Nuer in the capital Juba and killing of nearly 250 Nuer IDPs in Bor town.
Although the plans to defend Bor temporarily back slipped when the Nuer white Army overran the town and slained powerful Dinka Generals like Maj. Gen. Abraham Jongroor, the Ugandans mercenaries later restored Bor town and since then the focus of Dinka Bor has been how to take the leadership from the Bhar el Ghazal or the foolish majority. So far the Bor Dinka have encroached the Presidential Palace and Bilpham, and while the Bhar el Ghazal are sleeping on money, their plan to take over power is just a minute away. As we speak, the Dinka Bor have taken power, holding the three most powerful positions in the country and left Gogrial Dinka busy looting the money in the National Bank and Ministry of Finance. While the Bor now occupy the Ministry of Defense, Gen. Kuol Manyang, and Ministry of Information Gen. Michael Makuei Lueth, their sons have occupied the most powerful positions in the army starting with the Chief of Defense Forces, Deputy Chief of Defense Forces to other powerful positions in the army. It is just a matter of time, should Salva Kiir sleeps-in on the job, he will wake up to find Gen. Kuol Manyang as the new President of South Sudan. With Michael Makuei Lueth and his propagandists such as Garang John and Mading Ngor lying 24/7 on the SSBC, the Bhar el Ghazal Dinka will find it too late to reclaim power once it slipped to the Dinka Bor.
This is the long term plan of Dinka Bor that has been destroying South Sudan and it shall never end until they snatch the power. The current temporary peace is holding because the Dinka Bor have already taken the most powerful positions which give them hopes that should Salva Kiir dies or lose power for whatever reason, they will automatically sails in and declare themselves as the new powerhouse. They have now placed themselves strategically leading all the strategic positions from the position of mayor of Juba to the Ministry of Defense and Chief of Defense Forces.
