October 13th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan government said it will replace aged oil pipelines to avoid oil leakage in the country, a senior government official said.

Last month, oil spill ignited outrage and many took to the social media to criticize the government and oil companies for their reckless oil exploitation.

“We expect that the pressure in the pipeline will increase within the next few weeks. We should be able to make renovation to the pipelines so that it does not cause any burst in the future,” Petroleum minister, Daniel Awow Chuang, Friday.

Awow, however, said the oil spills which occurred last month in blocks 1, 2 and 4 remains under control in the surrounding areas.
