September 29th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s head of National Pre-transitional Committee (NPTC) and Presidential Advisor on Security Tutkew Gatluak said Friday that the unity government expected during the second week of November won’t be formed with Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

Machar who is the leader of the Sudan People’s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) is designated by the agreement as the person who will take up the position of the First Vice–President once the unity government is formed.

President Salva Kiir Mayardit said last week that he will form the government in November without Machar, a key figure in the revitalized peace agreement, if his SPLM-IO don’t cooperate regarding the matter.

Speaking in the Sudanese capital last week, Gatluak said Gatluak said Kiir will not form the government without Machar.

“We will not form the government [R-TGoNO] without [Riek] Machar,” Gatluak said.
