September 9th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny has left the Sudanese capital for Juba, officials allied to him said Monday.

The main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, said Sunday that Machar will lead a high-level delegation to the South Sudanese capital Juba and would hold talks with President Salva Kiir Mayardit on issues pertaining to the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement.

“The Chairman and Commander in Chief has just left Khartoum international airport heading to Juba where he will meet with his brother President Salva Kiir Mayardit,” an official in Khartoum told the Nyamilepedia.

The main armed opposition official who requested not to be named further said Machar was accompanied by Sudan’s deputy leader of the Sovereignty Council General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo/Hemeti.

“He was accompanied in the same plane by General Mohamed Hamdan Daglo,” the official added.
