August 27th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni on Sunday reportedly told his South Sudanese counterpart, Salva Kiir Mayardit, to respects pledges and agreements he signed with everyone including the opposition groups fighting him.

Kiir on Saturday paid a surprise visit to Uganda and met President Museveni on issues such as the implementation of the peace agreement and bilateral ties between Uganda and South Sudan.

A senior foreign ministry official who accompanied Kiir to Kampala over the weekend told the Nyamilepedia from Juba that Museveni had warned Kiir and urged him to respect anything he sign with anyone.

“He told him ‘look my friend, you have to respect anything you sign with anyone,’” the official revealed. “I think he had a message that he wanted to send to the President.”

Kiir had in the past signed several agreement with opposition groups but because those agreements have not been respected, none of them never brought change to the current situation in South Sudan.
