August 17th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The National Democratic Movement (NDM) led by Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin has said the implementation of the revitalized peace agreement is facing numerous challenges.

This was cited in a mid-term report released by the opposition group over activities of the pre-transitional period on Friday and extended to Nyamilepedia.

The report said despite pledges made by the government on the disbursement of funds to support the implementation of pre-transitional activities, enough money has not been paid.

It urged the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardiit to disburse funds because it is it’s responsibility to pay for the implementation of the revitalized peace deal.

“It is the full responsibility of the incumbent TGoNU (ITGoNU) to provide the funds required for the implementation process,” the report read in part.

It said the regional bloc, IGAD, has not taken any decision over the matter of the states following the submission of report by IBC in June.

“Although the Independent Boundaries Commission (IBC) completed their work and presented its report to IGAD Executive Secretariat on 20th June 2019, no action has so far been taken by IGAD on the recommendations,” it partly read.

“On the basis of the above, it is abundantly clear that the implementation of R-ARCSS continues to face numerous challenges,” the report said.
