Deng Alor is not representing FDs in Juba – Oyai Deng Ajak
August 16th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s former SPLA Chief of General Staff General Oyai Deng Ajak turned opposition figure has said senior member of the SPLM Former Detainees (FDs) Deng Alor Kuol who is currently in Juba for peace implementation is not representing the group.
Ajak said in an exclusive interview with Nyamilepedia on Wednesday that they had split in Khartoum over the return to Juba after a peace agreement was imposed on them in the Sudanese capital by the region saying Deng Alor is not in Juba to represent them.
“When we went to Khartoum in 2018, Sudan tried to organize something called an agreement and the differences among ourselves emerged from there,” he told the Nyamilepedia Wednesday.
“Some of us want to think that it is good for us to go back to Juba to work with Salva Kiir. Some of us say ‘no, there are mistakes which have been done and those mistakes must be corrected and before they are corrected we can’t go back to Juba’,” Alor said.
He said Deng Alor is not in Juba upon the directives of the FDs as a group saying he is in Juba to work for an agreement imposed on the people of South Sudan by the region and the international community.
“To be honest with you, Deng Alor is not leading any delegation. Deng Alor went to Juba to implement the policy and program which has been imposed on us by the region, the IGAD region in 2018,” he said.
“Deng Alor got himself trapped into something he himself does not agree with. He allowed himself to go to Juba to implement a policy and a program which he does not believe in,” he added.
