August 10th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A top SPLM-IO diplomat has urged South Sudanese social media users to advocate for peace instead of generating negative sentiments against it.
Ambassador Gatkuoth Biel Nyang, Machar’s envoy to the Arab Republic of Egypt and the League of Arab States made the remarks during a fundraising ceremony organized by Lou-Nuer community in Egypt.
“Those who say there is no peace, let me tell you that there is peac,” he told the gathering.
“Peace has returned to our country and as such, we must avoid creating negative sentiments about peace in the social media,” he added.
He reiterated the commitment of the main armed opposition group to the revitalized peace agreement signed by several opposition groups with the government in September last year.
