In a press statement extended to the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday, the Spokesperson for the Governor of Yei River State, Wayi Godwill narrated that, the two civilians were arrested on June 14th while heading to Ginjani Market. They were arbitrarily imprisoned behind bars, brutally murdered and their bodies dumped six miles away from Yei River State.
“The two deceased were kidnapped on June 14th 2019 while on their way from Wundukori to Ginjani Market at Mugwo Payam in Yei River County. “The leadership sends its deepest condolences and sympathies to the bereaved families and the entire people of Mugwo Payam.
While the leadership urges the incumbent government as one of the signatories to the R-ARCSS to respect its provisions and put a stop to atrocities against civilians, it equally calls upon CTSAMM and UNMISS to investigate this fresh violation of the R-ARCSS and ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable.” he added.
