June 25th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – A senior member of the main armed opposition group, SPLM-IO, led by former vice-president, Dr. Riek Machar has denied rumors that he and few other high-ranking members of the group left camp.

On Monday, social media users alleged that SPLM-IO deputy chairman, Hendry Odwar, ex-petroleum minister, Dak Duop Bichok, and the group’s head of foreign relations committee, Stephen Par Kuol have defected.

Although no official statement from the trio, the Nyamilepedia decided to reach out to them to find out whether the allegations were true or are made-up stories.

In denial, top SPLM-IO diplomat Stephen Par Kuol referred to the reports as “unfounded rubbish” saying they still stand firm behind Machar in his “efforts to achieve peace and stability” in the world’s youngest nation.
