Ten South Sudanese travels to the US as part of annual Mandela Washington Fellowship training

June 19th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Ten South Sudanese youths have been selected for the annual Mandela Washington Fellowship training as part of the Young African Leadership Initiative, the US embassy in Juba said in a brief statement.

According to the American statement, the ten South Sudanese youth, like the rest of participants, will spend six weeks in different US institution and attend academic courses on various topics.

Each of the participants will spend six weeks at a different U.S. College/University and undergo academic sessions in one of three tracks: Business and entrepreneurship, Civic Engagement, and Public Management,” the statement read partly.

Named in honor of South African leader, Nelson Mandela, the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is the flagship program of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI) that engages and empowers young leaders through academic courses, leadership training and networking.
