June 8th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – An Ethiopian Airline plane was forced out of landing at Juba Airport by bad weather on Thursday,  according to a member of the main armed opposition led by Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

The plane on its way to Khartoum,  the opposition official who boarded the plane said, attempted several times to land at Juba Airport but couldn’t due to bad weather.

“On my way to Khartoum through Juba aboard Ethiopian Airline, we departed Entebbe 3:10Pm. On arrival to Juba we got very bad weather- very heavy rain and thunderstorms. The pilot attempted to land 3 times and failed,” Nathaniel Oyet, SPLM-IO governor of Imatong state said in a brief Facebook post.

He said the pilot decided to return to Entebbe, Uganda after eight round flying around Juba.

“We then flew around Juba over 8 times, the weather persisted; we relocated to Nimble zone, we spent almost 30 minutes flying around nimule then the pilot made a wise decision to fly back to Entebbe we landed safely at 6:30Pm,” he said.

An opposition official who boarded the plane said the flight was set to land at Juba airport before going to Khartoum.
