May 4th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The former Press Secretary for South Sudan’s prominent opposition leader and former First Vice-President, Dr. Riak Machar, on Saturday broke his silence on two colleagues murdered in Juba as per a UN report issued on Tuesday.

“I have been saddened and moved by the reported barbaric extra judicial execution – in Juba – of our two dear brothers, Comrade Aggrey Izbon Idri and Comrade Dong Samuel Luak,” James Gatdet said in a brief statement on his social media Facebook page.

The former rebel chief aide who has been out of the social media for almost three years said he decided to open a new Facebook account to express his condolence on the demise of the two prominent personalities allied to the country’s main armed opposition group.

“I decided to open a new personal Facebook account today (after nearly three years of absence) so that I can be able to express my condolences to their bereaved family members, friends and the people of South Sudan at large,” he said, adding: “They died as heroes.”

While giving thanks to those who exerted efforts for his release in one way or another, Gatdet said he “strongly believe[s] that justice shall prevail someday and their murderers shall be brought to book.”
