April 15th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – Ex-Sudanese first lady, Widad Babiker Omer, has reportedly been prevented by South Sudanese authorities at Juba International Airport from boarding for the UAE’s commercial capital Dubai, sources  have claimed.

The source in Juba claimed that Widad arrived in Juba with her children a day before the fall of president Omar al-Bashir’s government and that his brother, Abdalla al-Bashir arrived in Juba on the 6th of April.

The source claimed that “South Sudanese authorities at Juba airport told Widad that she have to return to Sudan to travel from there saying she is not allowed  to travel to any country from Juba or anywhere in South Sudan.”

However, South Sudan’s ambassador to Khartoum, Mayen Dut denied the claim that the ex-first lady is in South Sudan but admitted that al-Bashir’s brother, Abdalla was in Juba but returned to Juba on Saturday, two days after the ouster of al-Bashir’s regime

Sudan’s military removed al-Bashir from power on Thursday after 30 years and declared a state of emergency, a move that brings to an end the divisive and autocratic reign of one of Africa and the Arab world’s longest serving leaders.
