April 4th 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s director of internal security bureau, Gen. Akol Koor, and Presidential Advisor on Security, Tutkew Gatluak, on Wednesday met, in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, the country’s First Vice-President designate and leader of main armed opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny.

In statements to Sudan’s state-run channel, the Sudan TV, following the meeting, Gatluak who is also the head of the National Pre-Transitional Committee (NPTC) said they have come to enlighten Machar on  the implementation of the peace agreement.

“We have come  to Dr. Riek’s home  to enlighten him on peace preparations currently ongoing in Juba and we delivered to him a message from President [Salva Kiir] expressing government’s readiness to full peace implementation,” Gatluak said.

“His group is the main [opposition] faction in the peace implementation and that’s why we have come all along from Juba to meet Dr. Riek,” he added.

Security arrangements, then unity gov’t

The senior government official further said the parties will first complete the implementation of the pre-interim security arrangements before the formation of the transitional government of national unity in May.

“The first measure to undertake is that we finish the security arrangement, merge the forces  to form and unified army, then we form a unity government,” he said.
