April 1st 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – The former deputy spokesman of the National Salvation Front (NAS) led by Gen. Thomas Cirilo said on Monday that the revitalized peace agreement signed by President Salva Kiir Mayardiit with opposition groups in September last year is not inclusive.

Last week, Wazir Michael Liah, then deputy spokesman of the holdout National Salvation Front (NAS), resigned from his position and then accused his boss Gen. Cirilo of “trying to advance tribal agenda.”

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia this afternoon, Liah said the September 12th agreement is not inclusive calling it a “settlement” between certain leaders with the exception of others involved in the ongoing conflict.

“I heard people saying ‘peace agreement, peace agreement’, this is a blatant mistake because what was signed is a settlement between the parties involved and it is not a comprehensive agreement and the justification is the continued IGAD efforts to bring in non-signatories to be part of the agreement,” he said.

“Peace means security and stability, and until now these two things are not there in our country even after the signing of this agreement,” he added.

Which party to join

Liah further said he don’t agree with the notion that moving away from politics is the solution to the ongoing situation in the country saying he will continue in politics and will soon make public which political group he will join.

“I am among those young men who believes that moving away from politics is not the right solution because politics is controlling our affairs and thus staying away while watching will not help change anything. So, I will return to politics and I will soon decide which group I will join,” he said.
