South Sudan police chief urges states to remove illegal checkpoints
February 22nd 2019 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s Inspector General of Police, Gen. Majak Akech Malok has called on the police forces in states to remove illegal checkpoints.
Gen. Majak was speaking during a two-day workshop conducted at the Regency Hotel in the capital Juba and was attended by a number of police officers.
“You must remove all the illegal checkpoints along the road connecting different towns. This will enable easy access by businessmen and aid groups,” Gen. Majak said.
In a statement issued this afternoon following the closure of the two-day workshop, the South Sudan police service said “inspector General of Police Gen. Majak Akec Malok call on States Police Commissioners to remove all checkpoints in their respective States…..during two days workshop on revitalised peace Agreement and awareness to Commissioners at Regency Hotel in Juba to day.”
