SPLA(IO) Calls On SSPDF To Hold Soldiers Accountable for Recent Attack On Their Positions in Yei River State

Nov 11, 2018(Nyamilepedia) — While the two delegations of the SPLA(IO) and the SSPDF were holding peace consultations in Yei town two days ago, some soldiers from the government  troops carried out assaults on SPLA(IO) positions in Kiju.
According Wayi Godwill Edward, the Spokesperson in the office of the SPLM-IO Governor of Yei River State, at least 3 soldiers from the SPLA(IO) side were killed and civilians were displaced during the recent attack in Kiju.
“Though such positive actions are going on in Yei River State, yesterday some indiscipline soldiers within  the SPLA (SSPDF) came from Mundu southwards via Bungit and attacked SPLA (IO) base at Kiju killing three of our soldiers and further displacing IDPs.” Said the Governor’s spokesman, Wayi Godwill.
“The leadership of the SPLM/A (IO) in Yei River State outrageously condemns in the strongest terms possible the continuing act of hostilities from the those indiscipline soldiers within its peace partner the SPLA (SSPDF).” Wayi continued,
According to the governor office, the leadership of the SPLA(IO) further urges their leaders to take all the necessary steps, without any delay, to ensure that they cooperate and respect the permanent ceasefire and to promote the return of peace and security in the state and beyond.
SPLM/A (IO) in Yei River State urges the citizens to remain hopeful and vigilant and assures them of its commitment to the full implementation of R-ARCSS.
