South Sudan to benefit from humanitarian assistance worth 6.5 million Euros donated by the Austrian government

Nov 08, 2018(Nyamilepedia) — The Republic of South Sudan is among Africa’s most affected countries that are expected to benefit from humanitarian assistance worth 6.5 million Euros donated by the Austrian government.

Speaking to journalists, the Austrian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Karin Kneissl said the new humanitarian assistance will be used for strengthening healthcare systems and it will play a significant roles in enhancing clean drinking water in the recipient countries.

“The Austrian aid will be used to provide clean drinking water, health care supplies, and urgent assistance to prevent the aggravation of humanitarian situation in the affected areas and regions where people depend on external assistance” said Karin on Thursday.

According to Hon. Karin “The Government of Austria has decided to provide humanitarian assistance worth 6.5 million Euros to five African countries, including Egypt, South Sudan, Uganda, Chad and Ethiopia, to assist in the provision of humanitarian needs resulting from the crisis of sheltering refugees and Climate problems”.

In related developments, the Austrian Prime Minister Chancellor, Sebastian Kurz, said that, the government of Austria has met its humanitarian criteria and is ready to fully forge cooperation with the most affected countries in Africa.

“Austria meets its humanitarian responsibilities in a fair manner,” Kurz told journalists, emphasizing on the need to strengthen ties with developing countries in Africa.
