October 25th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President,  Salva Kiir Mayardiit who is fighting a rebellion in the country has slammed claims that he pursued Dr. Machar, SPLM-IO leader, to DRC saying Machar was running from his own shade.

Kiir uttered the remarks during a live interview on Wednesday with the Kenyan TV Channel, the CTV .

“Riek Machar was here in this same building. I saved him and I saved his life although he ran away all the way from here to DRC, he was running from his own shade. But I saved his life with some of his guards who were lucky enough to survive the battle in J1,” Kiir said.

Kiir said that Machar is reluctant to return to Juba because he had the sentiment that the insecurity and efforts to attack him before he fled to DRC were still there giving a South Sudanese proverb.

“Of course people say that always a person bitten by snake can run away from a string. If a string is being pulled near him or her, [he or she] will jump up,” he said adding “So, Riek Machar still believe that what he left in Juba is still there hunting him.”

Kiir revealed that Machar has concerns about his security in Juba saying he will guarantee his safety which will also be guaranteed by Sudanese President Omar Al-Bashir and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni.

“He said his security is not guaranteed and that there is no security in Juba,” he said adding “President Bashir, President Museveni, President Kenyatta and prime minister of Ethiopia all these people are participants to the agreement.”
