October 7th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan Presidential Advisor on Military Affairs Daniel Awet Akot have denied being behind a murder of a Kenyan lady who was found slaughtered in the capital Juba this month.

The body of the lady lady identified as Monica KimaniĀ was found stuffed in a bathtub at her apartment with the throat slit, a day after she jetted back to the country from Juba, South Sudan where she was reportedly running a family business.

A number of Kenyan local media reported that Akot was behind Monica’s flashy lifestyle that included expensive cars, apartment and trips abroad. During her burial, her father said Monica had promised to buy him an SUV V8 on her birthday.

However, General Daniel Awet Akot denied the report by the Kenyan media labeling it as false meant to tarnish his image and the relationship between the government of South Sudan and that of the neighboring Kenya.

ā€œHow would you have worked with somebody you donā€™t know?ā€ He was quoted by the Standard media of Kenya.

Awet then threatened to sue the Kenyan media that linked him to Monica and her gruesome murder wondering what should be the connection between him and the death of the Kenyan lady.

ā€œWe are wondering what is the relevance of saying the governor had a relationship with Monica. Are they trying to imply that the general had a hand in the murder,” he asked.

“The only true thing about whatever is being peddled in the press in Kenya about this whole matter is that the General was a governor in Rumbek. The general does not own a single iron sheet in Nairobi. If he owns anything it is in South Sudan and this is well known,ā€ his office manager added.
