September 24th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan journalist, Michael Christoper who is the editor-in-chief of the Al-Watan newspaper has been arrested this morning by South Sudan police after a Juba court ordered them to do so.

Michael Christoper was accused last month by a woman of refusing to pay back a sum of money he said Michael should pay for using a hotel hall for his marriage.

Photos published by a woman showed her with a face that appeared to have been attacked following his argument with him over the money.

Sources have told the Nyamilepedia that Michael Christoper is under detention at one of Juba police posts awaiting court procedures.

“Michael is being detained after a court ordered him arrested for failing to pay a woman whom he owes some money. Soon,  he will be taken to the court of law to face justice,” one source said.

Another source said the woman opened a court case and Michael was arrested this morning at VIP Hotel in Juba after the police failed to find him at his residence in Malikia.
