Machar to meet President Kiir shortly

September 22nd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s First Vice President Designate and SPLM-IO leader Dr. Riek Machar is in the Sudanese Presidency to meet the South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit who is also in the Palace meeting other opposition groups.

President Salva Kiir and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon signed the revitalized peace deal in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa to end the five-year old brutal conflict.

In an exclusive interview with the Nyamilepedia on Saturday, the SPLM-IO Deputy Chairman of Information and Public Relations Manawa Peter Gatkuoth said they are in the Sudanese Presidency to meet President Salva Kiir Mayardiit whom he said is meeting the other opposition groups at the time of the interview.

“As I speak to you,  I am I’m the Sudanese Presidency. The Chairman and Commander in Chief Dr. Riek Machar is here and we are waiting to meet President Kiir in the next few moments,” he told the Nyamilepedia from the Sudanese Presidency in Khartoum.

He said President Kiir is meeting the leaders of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance and the Former Detainees after which he will meet the opposition leader.

“Now,  President Kiir is meeting the leaders of the South Sudan Opposition Alliance led by Changson Lew and those of the Former Detainees after that he will meet our Chairman,” he said.
