South Sudan parties to initialize peace deal today

August 28th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan’s peace initializing ceremony will take place in the Sudanese capital Khartoum after the parties failed to initialize the agreement after some unidentified parties failed to submit their documents over some issues, sources have said.

South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon signed the peace agreement signed the peace agreement early this month along with other groups.

The South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA) and the SPLM-FDs also signed the peace agreement despite early rejection to sign the deal citing mediators’ insistence to not to include their.

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia this morning, senior opposition official said the peace agreement will be initialed this morning by the parties despite adjournment yesterday Monday due to failure by some parties to submit their stances on the agreement.

“Yes the initialization of the peace agreement will take place today here. We did not initialized the peace yesterday because some parties had failed to submit their positions but we will do that today,” the opposition official told the Nyamilepedia on the condition of anonymity.
