August 5th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The leader of the National Salvation Front (NAS), Gen. Thomas Cirilo Swaka, has dismissed, in a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia Gen. Julius Tabuley who claimed to have replaced Cirilo in a separate statement today.

Gen. Julius in his statement accused Gen. Thomas Cirilo of making impossible demands at the talks which he said would never be by the mediators but would only derail the peace agreement which had been finally signed today in the Sudanese capital Khartoum by the parties including the NAS which declined early.

In a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia today, the NAS leader mentioned Gen. Julius along with other military generals as undermining the unity of the armed opposition movement.

“The leadership of the National Salvation Front (NAS) has followed closely the clandestine and subversive activities of Maj. Gen. Julius Tabuley, Dr. Gasim Barnaba Kisanga, Gen. Khalid Butrus, Maj. Gen. Ali Kur, Brig. Nataniel Chol Gai and Brig. Gen. Michael Aywen. Over the past one month, we have confirmed that the activities and ill intentions of these officers are inconsistent with the aspirations of our people and the vision of NAS,” the statement signed by Gen. Thomas Cirilo said.

He accused the mentioned individuals of undertaking what he called dubious meetings  which he said were intended to undermine the position of the NAS and sabotage its search for peace.

“In line with the rules and regulations of NAS, I Gen. Thomas Cirilo Swaka, the Chairman and Commander in chief pof the National Salvation Front, do, hereby relieve the above mentioned individuals from their positions and responsibilities and dismiss them from NAS’ membership with immediate effect,” he said in the statement.

The statement further assured the people of South Sudan that the departure of the above mentioned individuals would not have effects on the NAS’ struggle for change.

“NAS wants to assure our people that the departure of these individuals will  have no material effects on the struggle and on our resolve to seek and secure enduring peace for our people,” he further said.
