August 3rd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – South Sudan President, Salva Kiir Mayardiit, said on Friday that his government and the SPLM-IO were forced to sign peace agreement in 2015 and that he and Machar had no choice rather than to sign it with reservations compared to the one due to be signed in Khartoum on Sunday which he said he accepted in letter and spirit.

Kiir was speaking during a press conference he held with the Sudanese journalists in the capital Juba during a visit by the Sudanese foreign Minister Al-Dirdiri Mohamed Ahmed who went to the South Sudanese capital to convince Kiir to compromise on some issues.

President Kiir said he is ready to implement the agreement which will be signed on Sunday in the Sudanese capital Khartoum by him and opposition leader Dr. Riek Machar Teny-Dhurgon.

“I and my government are ready to implement this agreement in letter and spirit because I accepted it with all its contents,” Kiir said.

He said the peace agreement which he will sign in Khartoum on Sunday is much better compared to the one that he signed in August 2015 saying the later was imposed against his own will and had nothing to do rather than signing it with reservations.

“This peace agreement is what the people in this country deserves. But what happened in 2015 was a forced one that neither the government, nor the SPLM-IO accepted compared to they one that we will sign on Sunday,” Kiir further said.

Politics are absolutely dirty game by having say this, the groups of Alliance Oppositions including SPLM Political Detainees were first seeing the leader of the SPLM IO as he will not respect the IGAD peace proposal in Addis Ababa and they speak up against SPLM IO. The people who were spoken at that time were Mr. Pagan Amum, Dr. Majak D. Agoot and Dr. Lam Akol wanted to isolated the SPLM IO during face to face meeting in Ethiopia but now something change dramatically and all those Oppositions Alliance and SPLM Political Detainees are now in the position of being isolated probable . Also there is another political development. The Equatorians politicians outsider world and their Equatorians rebels within SPLM IO are conducting their agendas basically, some of them complains that, they do not wants to see two vice presidents from Nuer tribe that is one reason. The second reason, they believes that these two tribes Dinka and Nuer want to be on the Top leadership even when there is one Equatorian such as James Wani Igga yet, the Dinka in government accepted to let former vice president returned back and our Equatorian man was pushing back adding, they will reunited against both Dinka and Nuer respectively.

On one hand, the Eastern Nuer politicians in both sides rebels led by Dr. Riek Machar and Juba’s government, they are complaining that, the former unity regions from Nuer clan have dominated them from South Sudan national politics and they are seeking unity among themselves before bringing the issue to government attention. One general led by Dr. Riek Machar from the Eastern Nuer community wondering how and why all two vice presidents goes to former unity regions? He is questioning his politicians who are neither in government nor its the SPLM IO. I think the president and his vices presidents including Dr. Riek Machar will have a lot of things to deal with than their own problems. Let us hope the [KKRPA] Khartoum Kiir, Riek peace agreement will be successful then, we will be moving on to the process of reconciliation and healing because there have been a mistrust among South Sudanese leaders and it must be change to moved country ahead.
