August 1st 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The Secretary General for the National Democratic Movement (NDM) led by the former SPLM-DC Chairman  Dr. Lam Akol Ajawin has been suspended after an alleged involvement in corruption and fund embezzlement in the party.

The movement also rubbished claims that the former secretary general, David William, had resigned saying the later was suspended and did not resign after an investigation committee decided to take such disciplinary measures against him for involvement in corruption.

Speaking to the Nyamilepedia on Wednesday, David Lawrence Lual, a member of the alliance’s delegates at the talks who is also a member of the alliance’s Security Sub-Committee, said David William did not resign, but was suspended by an investigation committee.

“He (David William) is saying that he reigned but he was actually suspended first. He is not only accused but caught red handed,” Lual said.
He said the former Secretary General was suspended from the position after an investigation committee presented their final findings regarding involvement in corruption and funds mismanagement.
“David William was suspended from the position of Secretary General in the Movement after the investigation committee presented their final findings regarding his involvement in corruption and mismanagement of the movement’s funds,” he said.
The high-ranking opposition official further told the Nyamilepedia that the South Sudan Opposition Alliance had not changed its initial position in about rejecting to initialize the agreement saying they did not accept to sign the agreement in contrary to early reports.
“I don’t know about Former Detainees but up to now no any other decision has been made by the South Sudan Opposition Alliance (SSOA),” he said of their decision to reject the peace agreement.
