July 29th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – Authorities in Northern Upper Nile State said they have apprehended the masterminds of the recent attack which took place in Maban county against aid groups.

The attack which took place on Monday led to the evacuation of around five hundreds (500) humanitarian workers in Maban with others, one the top of them the MSF, suspending operation in the northern Upper Nile town.

Te governor of Northern Upper Nile state said on Saturday in a interview with the Juba Monitor that they have arrested the masterminds of the attack and an investigation is being carried out by the relevant authorities.

“We are going to do the investigations right away. We are going to put them to explain more about their violent attack on the NGOs,” Governor Kak said. “If there were issues of concern then they would have forwarded to the government in good manner,” he told the Juba monitor.

He said they will see whether it is stated in the NGOs policy to allocate some percentage to the local and the host community  as chance of employment.

“We are going to use the policy of the NGOs which is the NGOs Act. If there are chances of the local communities then well, there will be no problem, if there is no allocated percentage to the local community. Their demands of positions will be based on NGOs policy,” he further said.

He said the state government does not support the violent mean to be used by the South Sudanese youth in asking for their rights saying the youth should in stead think for what he referred to as developmental ideas.

“As state Government, we don’t want youth of South Sudan to think of issues to do with violence. We don’t completely want such Acts. This was not good but I believe it will be corrected,” he said adding that “Youth are supposed to think of developmental ideas for the country not issues that can subject people to violence. Let us always think of how unity can be preached among the people.”
