July 22nd 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The South Sudan United Front under the leadership of the country’s former SPLA Chief of General Staff, Gen. Paul Malong Awan, said on Thursday that the group is for a regime change and will execute it without any fear.

Malong was dismissed as the top army general in May 2016 making him to choose the choice of rebellion against the state which he once regarded as a treason for the country and the people of South Sudan.

In a statement issued on Thursday, Malong’s group said the South Sudan United Front Movement has a bigger agenda rather than a power sharing agreement which he said would maintain the status quo accusing Kiir of blocking their attempt to join the talks.

“The public should also be informed that South Sudan United Front/Army has a bigger Agenda than power sharing interests. We have not been a party to the peace deal being brokered since Salva Kiir blocked us and our interests is not power sharing,” The group said in a statement signed by Malong’s Press Secretary Sunday de’John.

The statement further said the group is for a regime change and will at whatever cost execute it without any fear.

“We are for a regime change so as to give chance to South Sudanese so as to chose their leader of choice. The regime change is our agenda for now and we will execute it without fear or favor. We will not be involved in wrangling for position,” further said the statement.
