July 15th 2018 (Nyamilepedia) – The opposition-appointed governor of Imatong state, Oyet Nathaniel, puts tough blasts on South Sudan National Security operatives in reprisal for the allegations of infamous unknown gunmen fabricated against him by The Dawn.
In a statement released on Saturday, the SPLM-IO governor of Imatong state, Oyet Nathaniel said Taban Deng’s group was behind what he called ‘Konyonyo politics’ that is meant to tarnish the image of the SPLM-IO.
“It has come to my attention; cheap “Konyokonyo politics” being articulated by the national security of regime in Juba1 with attachment to Taban Deng Gai group. This propaganda has been depicted in and through the front page of A4 print paper tabloid “The Dawn” with title ( ” SPLA-IO Generals Behind Unknown Gunmen” indicting my names) on a none professional pseudo news paper but of South Sudan standards. (I reserve my right to sue),” Gen. Oyet said in a statement seen by the Nyamilepedia
He said the accusation come after he rejected the Entebbe proposal which he said aimed at retaining the First Vice President Taban Deng Gai during the upcoming transitional period.
“This all started in Khartoum at the talks. My continuous oppositions to the Entebbe proposal which intends to retain Taban Deng Gai as the FVP of South Sudan and his group during the transitional period is leaked to Juba and is being resented by his quarters and they influenced the national security to do this cheap Tom and Jerry business in order to intimidate and silenced me,” he said.
Oyet continued and said “I want to state this herein loud and clear that I can’t be intimidated and silenced by anyone. In my right conscience, and without fear or favor, there’s no any justifiable or rational ground under which Taban and his group who are children of breakdown of; 2015 agreement, law and order, destruction of property and displacement of South Sudanese from their homes from 2016 shall be rewarded to do more. They should be consigned to Hybrid Court if this shall fail ICC.”
He reiterated the SPLM-IO commitment to holding perpetrators of the killings accountable.
“Be reminded that we in the SPLM/A-IO haven’t and shall never throw away the Obassanjo Reports on atrocities committed by government in this conflict, there are subsequent reports by UN Panel of Experts, Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch and et al, we are revitalizing Chapters One; on Governance and Chapter Two on Security Arrangements the rest of Chapters shall apply as are. Either we have South Sudan for all or we don’t have it. No one can humiliate the sovereign people, We shall fight to the finish,” he further said.
